Ebay Stores

Ebay Stores - Are They Worth The Cost?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ronnie_Bredahl]Ronnie Bredahl

Almost everywhere you look on the internet, someone has an opinion about what does and does not work on eBay. One question posed, is about Ebay Stores: Are they worth the cost? In a word, yes they can very much be worth the cost.

With the amount of daily traffic that flows through the site, an eBay store can hold product visible for a potential 24/7/365 and items listed in the store can be there until the item is sold.

Let's take an example of widget A and widget B. You list widget A in your eBay store, and you place widget B on a 7 day auction. At the end of 7 days, let's say that neither item sold. If you listed widget A, your cost would be just a few cents, and it remains until it actually does sell. Widget B, you paid the listing fee, paid say, 35 cents for the listing, and after 7 days it ended with no other opportunity for anyone to see it again, unless you list it again.

The basic store at the time of this writing, is $15.95 per month, and you can have UNLIMITED listings, at just a few cents each. If you listed regular auctions for the same number of items, those auctions will end at most, 10 days later. By the time you add up all the fees, chances are, with the basic eBay store option, you could have actually saved money on listing fees, making the $15.95 per month charge a non-issue!

The number one issue to ANY business opening is that you keep costs down as low as possible, which aids you in keeping prices lower to encourage more purchasing from your buyers.

Lets make an illustrative example here for you, so you can easily visualize the information you are being given.

We'll open an eBay store at a cost of $15.95 per month. In this store, we'll list 500 products for sale. This will cost us at most, $30.95 for the basic listings.

Now, take the same 500 products, basic listings at minimal costs, and we'll use the lowest price which is 10 cents per listing for DVD items and games. Right there, it would cost you $50.00 for the same 500 items! Also, these items will expire after 7 days. (10 day auctions cost a little more) The items listed in your eBay store will be up at least 30 days.

All in all, it just makes good business sense that you would open an eBay store if you intend to sell anything in any kind of quantity on eBay. If on the other hand you are just a casual seller, then it would likely not be worth it. For the purposes of this article however, we will assume that this is your business, and you will be dealing with eBay on a daily basis.

Now your question, "Ebay Stores: Are they worth the cost?", has I trust been answered in the best possible way, with examples given. Yes, Ebay Stores are worth it, and it just makes good business sense to open one if you are going to do more than just casually sell on eBay. Researching Items to Sell on eBay

Researching Items to Sell on eBay
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andy_Goodrich]Andy Goodrich

Have you ever wondered how people who are selling on eBay determined whether or not an item will sell, and how much you can potentially sell it for? Then this is the article for you. In this article I will teach you how easy it is to figure these statistics out and then use them to determine your chance of selling, and selling price.

The process.

To start things out you will need to first login to your eBay account. After logging in look towards the top of the page. Near the top you should have a search bar, to the far right of this search bar you should see the "advanced search" link shown in a small font, and hyper linked light blue. Click on this hyper link, you will be taken to the advanced search page of eBay. At this point we can begin our research.

1st Step

The first step is knowing what you want to look for and making sure you are specific. This means using specific keywords as you research, heres an example. If you research the product, hangers you would get over 2000 items that have been listed over the last two weeks. The hangers would be so different that you would be, unable to determine if your hangers are selling or not. However lets say that you have pink hangers. We could then change the keywords to be more specific, such as pink hangers. Now you only get 100 results, and you have more relevant products to look through.

2nd Step

Now that you understand how to search, you need to know what you are looking at. The first thing that should be obvious is that we are looking at items that were listed over the last 2 weeks, and have ended. Since they are ended items we can now see if they are selling well or not. To tell this is actually quite easy. If the price being shown is green, it means the item sold, if the price being shown is red this means that it did not sell. After you understand simply look through, and figure out an average selling price and an average selling rate. The easiest way to do this is writing how many sold, and how many didn't, to keep things easy use only the first page of results. After that write down the price they have sold for to determine the average selling price. The results your looking for are a 30% to 40% sell through rate and a price that enables you to make money.

Getting Started On EBay

Getting Started On EBay
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Gennifer_Goebel]Gennifer Goebel

There are many aspects to cover about selling on eBay. I am going to list only a few and try to keep my tips short but informative.

• Find your niche. When deciding what to sell, start by thinking about what you enjoy and are familiar with such as cars or music. Once you have a few ideas go on eBay pulse and see which ones look popular but not many people are selling.

• Inventory. Find a reputable wholesalers drop shipper source. My favorites are One Source and Salehoo. Choose one with a one time fee not a monthly membership and make sure you can deal directly, not with a middle man.

• Title for listings. Go on popular search engines such as Google to find highly searched key words related to your niche. Use these words along with a few unique words of your own and you have your title.

• Description of product. Be as short and descriptive as possible. List everything you would want to know as a buyer such as: new-old, size, condition, color, dimensions and any flaws must be stated. Don't forget to tell the customer how they will benefit from buying what you have to offer.

• Photos. Put up a picture no matter what you are selling. Pictures should be clear with the product in upright position. In some cases you may want to use an object to show size, such as a tape measure.

This is a scratch on the surface of what you can learn about selling on eBay, so keep researching. Even if you think your becoming a pro, there is always more to learn.

Ebay and Its Digital Product Restriction

Ebay and Its Digital Product Restriction
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dave_Nicholson]Dave Nicholson

Ebay has announced that you can no longer sell your digital products from their website. This means that a large variety of digital items like e-books, software, audio and video will not be provided through eBay in digital form. You cannot send the download links of digital goods to your customers. This ban has been enforced by eBay due to a number of reasons. For instance there were quality issues relating to the e-books and various other digital products. Other reasons included security and user dissatisfaction, in case the products were not of a certain quality. eBay simply tried to maintain the highest level of quality on their website. The e-books sellers and authors were quiet alarmed by the new restrictions implemented by e-Bay, but these new policies also have a good side to them.

Many authors and programmers spent plenty of time and effort in creating their e-books or computer applications. However, large numbers of people started using eBay to get these e-books at cheap prices. They could purchase them for as low as 99 cents. By changing its rules, eBay has increased the value of all the e-books sold on their website. In simple words, the excess amounts of books that have saturated the boards are suddenly valuable. Now people will purchase these e-books at an adequate price. This is great news since people will be able to read the original contents of the author by paying him the due share.

Ebay's restrictions have provided new opportunity for media duplication and distribution services. With ban on digital product sales, people are left with only one alternative. They can sell their digital goods in the form of physical CD's that can be purchased from the e-Bay website. Writing these CDs can be a simple and easy task. You just need a CD/DVD writer for this purpose. There are many CD burning softwares available to assist you in this task. Using this software, you just have to drag and drop the folder containing your e-book to the location you want it to be written. This location is normally your CD or DVD. Then click the burn or write command, to write the CD. Usually, the media duplication and distribution services are there to assist you in writing, packaging and sending these products to your customers all at a very low cost.

Ebay has started the trend by restricting the sales of digital goods. Other auction sites will follow in eBay's footsteps. This means that all those low quality products will not be available on the auction sites, putting an end to customer frustration. This will eliminate baiting. The sellers will provide top quality goods and restrict themselves from selling any products that are not up to the required standards. eBay's digital product restriction has caused panic for most of the sellers but it has also provided opportunities to many creative sellers, who have adapted to the change in the marketplace by selling CD versions of their products.

EBook Business Needs An EBay Store

Why Your EBook Business Needs An EBay Store
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Richard_Gilbert]Richard Gilbert

No matter what you are selling, an eBay Store is an absolute must if you are looking to get serious about it. Opening an eBay Store will give you a more professional look and enable your buyers to browse your items with ease. Of course there are eBay fee's attached to having your own store however they are relatively small and the benefits will definitely outweigh the costs.

1. Reduced Fees -

Although a store does have a monthly charge of its own, overtime you will notice that these fees may in fact begin to balance out, as listing items in your eBay store is considerably cheaper and can cost only a few cents to list items for months at a time. Now at the moment this might not seem like an impressive saving, however if you are at a point where you are selling hundreds of eBooks each week then you'll know that your eBay can rapidly mount up. You'll find that many top sellers chose to list the majority of eBooks as Store Inventory items only to reduce their fees, and list only their best selling and most popular eBooks as regular auctions.

2. Your Own Web Address -

The main benefit of having an eBay store is that you will be given your own web address, which will look something like "stores.ebay.com/yourebaystore"

This is a unique web address that will never change. When people click this link they will be taken directly to your store. Now it's just a case of promoting that link and driving people to your store. There are countless ways to do this; it's all about being creative, and you'll find some great advice on eBay under the "Promote Your Store" pages, located under "Manage Your Store".

3. List Items For Extended Periods -

Whereas listing an item under the normal procedure on eBay allows a maximum of 10 days only, listing your items as Store Inventory gives you a variety of options. For mere cents, you can choose to list your items for 30 days, 90 days or even "Good 'Til Cancelled", which means that your listing will keep showing until you decide to manually cancel it.

Making the most of this available option means you will not only be cutting down and saving on your eBay fees. But will no longer have to spend hours and hours each week uploaded new items. Once you've added it to your store you can simply forget about it and let it run its course.

4. Added Statistics -

Opening an eBay store will also provide you the added bonus of being able to monitor sales and auction traffic far more precisely than with the standard eBay toolbar. By using the full capabilities of the Manage My Store section of eBay, you are able to access many sales and traffic reports allowing you to monitor how your business is growing. What is particularly clever is that the figures displayed on your sales reports will take into consideration any deductions such as eBay and Paypal fees, therefore, giving you a very accurate evaluation of your business and profits.

iPod killer? With a brighter screen, better battery life, and more features, the Creative Zen Vision:M certainly has the goods to give the iPod a run for its money. In addition to a voice recorder and an FM tuner, the $330, 30GB Zen Vision:M supports a wide range of video formats, works with a growing number of online stores, and is compatible with subscription services. Cementing it as our Best in Show pick is its winning design; any product that cares to take on the stylish iPod must be able to turn heads. Though it's thicker than the iPod, the Vision:M boasts a sturdy, comfortable feel, a rainbow of color choices, and glossy good looks. - cnet.com

Review Snippets.

Portable media players (PMPs) are still coming of age, and it isn't yet clear where the sweet spot is in terms of size and video quality. But Creative is definitely covering its bases, between its Zen Vision—a full-fledged PMP with a gorgeous 3.7-inch screen—and now the new Zen Vision:M ($329 direct), an iPod-size (yeah, we said it, so what?) 30GB player that plays music, photos, and video. Is this the iPod-killer the world has (or hasn't) been waiting for? - pcmag.com

Creative have been working hard to get out of the shadow and created some fine products. My last MP3-player was a Creative Zen Micro, which I was satisfied with. It might not have looked as snazy as the iPOD Mini but the sound quality was brilliant and it had FM-radio, a feature I like.
With the Zen Vision:M creative is aiming directly at their latest video playing iPOD and this time they have created a MP3-player that doesn’t have to be ashamed for its looks when compared to the iPOD. Could this be the MP3-player that finally will break the iPOD-dominance in the MP3-player market?
- bjorn3d.com

Pros: Brilliant screen, media compatibility, sound, user interface, battery life, features, bookmarks, drag-and-drop media
Cons: Bulky, non-removable battery, sensitive touchpad, podcasts converted to video, reliance on mp3 tags, infuriating dock
The Bottom Line: This is for people who want a large capacity player with high-quality sound, with the added convenience of video, FM radio, and other features. It's simple, feature-packed, and beautiful.

Dual Screens

Two attractive bright LCD screens offer a nice alternative to the larger gaming systems, one of the best hand held systems ever created. Each 3-inch screen can reproduce a true 3D view, featuring an impressive 3D rendering that can surpass images displayed on the Nintendo 64.

Review Snippets.

"On either side of the top screen are the speakers. Let me tell you, the sound on the DS totally blew me away. It has a virtual surround sound mode that sounds better than my PC. Maximum volume level through the speakers is not super loud (parents will be happy for that!), but I think it is loud enough for all but the noisiest environments." - The-Gadgeteer.com

"Two beautiful screens (the bottom one is touch-sensitive) and stereo simulated surround sound give the Nintendo DS the most immersive portable gaming experience around. Built-in wireless connectivity so you can play against or communicate with friends." - PCmag.com

"If the GBA was the Super NES in mobile form then this is a portable N64. A few hours spent with Super Mario 64 DS will tell you that the ARM9 and ARM7 CPUs are perfectly capable of doing anything you would have seen on the N64's custom hardware, and there are times when the bundled demo version of Metroid Prime: Hunters has you suspecting that it might have the potential to surpass it." - TheRegister.co.uk

The Following is Taken From Heliums Publisher Market Place :

Helium’s Marketplace is the only place on the web where publishers are posting the titles they need articles for right now. Our partner publishers are paying from $20 to $200 for each selected article, so you can earn more when you write here and your article is the one picked by the publisher.

At Helium, we’re building a new world of content and knowledge, where people share their advice, stories and experiences.

In Helium’s Marketplace, we’re revolutionizing publishing.

Are you tired of having to read publishers’ minds for query letters that then get ignored? Do you want to break into freelancing but don’t have a body of clips to show yet?

In Marketplace, you see the titles that publishers need. And no one’s prejudging you because you haven’t been previously published – your work for the publisher right here is the only credential you need!

All you need to do is join Helium and start writing!

The opportunities for Members to Post :

Currently there are 17 Publishers to choose from, ranging from Beach, Fishing, Golf, Holiday Destinations, Several Magazines, Software and Hardware - just to mention a few.

The number of articles required from each publisher varies from two to over ten, each business has different requirements for Blog Posters and the amount of words per article varies from 150 words to around 2000 words per article.

I believe each person who writes an article submits it (the article) into the market place / article database, where fellow members compare articles and rate them accordingly - this article marketplace is then sorted through by the person/business who requested the article.

If your article has been rated highly by the community then your article will have more exposure and have a better chance to be selected - resulting in you landing the contract and payment.

Article Piece Taken From Helium for Advertisers:

Submit article titles at Helium that fit your editorial needs. Include guidelines or specifications for each title such as word count, style or story angle and audience focus. Also include a pay range, or flat rate, that you wish to pay for a selected each article.

Watch as Helium’s audience of writers submit articles to your titles.
The best articles on any topic rise to the top through peer review. (While plenty of websites offer user-created content, none have the ability to transform that content into a valued resource. Helium does. Our rating process ensures that the best articles rise to the top.)

Pick the articles that you want to publish in your print or online publication. There is no upfront cost – you only pay for the articles you select!
